I LOVE this movie! I completely agree that it's "an exploration of the work of the senses." Another unique film that explores the senses to the maximum, is "In the realm of senses" by Nagisa Oshima, a very powerful, insane film. No, it doesn't say anything about Japanese women LOL Anyway, once a friend said it was the only film she walked out of the theater.
